Terms and Conditions

  1. What is AZUREwards?
    1. AZUREwards is an exclusive web-based privilege programme designed and managed by Shangri-La Hotels.
      To fully utilize this website, registered members must log in with their valid details. Access to this website is exclusively for registered member of AZUREwards. Membership is by invitation only and is limited by terms and conditions, at the discretion of the management of the hotels. However, if you have not receive an invitation but wish to join AZUREwards, please click ‘Apply To Join’ to submit your details and we would be happy to review your application.
    2. “Program” means the AZUREwards web-based online booking membership ONLY program launched by the Hotel, to reward QUALIFIED loyal bookers who make guestroom reservations by www.shangri-la.com. Reward points are awarded when the paid qualified room reservations have materialized.
    3. "Member" means the person to whom an AZUREwards membership program and Member’s Booker Account ID are issued by the hotel, subject to the terms and conditions.
    4. “Booker Account” is AZUREwards.com authorized Member’s Booker Account ID and password required when making guestroom reservations. It is required and for login and access to the member’s account details and points summary online for rewards redemptions in www.AZUREwards.com.
    5. “AZUREwards Points” or “Points” shall mean the points credited to the Member’s Booker Account ID, based on paid materialized guestroom reservations by www.shangri-la.com, WeChat and Mobile App to hotel.
    6. “Point Summary” means reward points accumulated as referred to in item 1.5. Reward points in the point summary have an expiry date, are non-transferable and may not be exchanged for cash.
    7. Member’s Booker Account ID must be indicated in the “SPECIAL REQUEST BOX” in www.shangri-la.com WeChat and Mobile App when making guestroom reservations. Failure to do so will mean that no points will be credited for the particular reservation made.
    8. "Merchant" is an individual, firm or hotel engaged in the business of selling and providing goods and/or services featured in the online AZUREwards rewards gallery, including the Hotel.
    9. "Reward" or “Reward Item” applies to the Reward/Privilege/Benefit/Merchandise featured in the AZUREwards rewards gallery, issued by the Hotel to the member by redemption using the reward points accumulated in the member’s booker account.
    10. "Rewards Gallery" applies to the online list of reward items published in AZUREwards that is maintained and updated by the Hotel.
    11. "Reward Voucher or Redemption Voucher" applies to the voucher issued by the hotel to the member for the purpose of claiming the reward based upon the reward points accumulated in the member’s booker account.
  2. Eligibility / Participation
    1. Participation in the membership program requires the participating member to hold the AZUREwards Membership ID and maintain a member’s booker account with the hotel.
    2. The hotel may, at its sole discretion, issue Membership ID to bookers who have previously held a member’s booker account with the hotel under a similar program managed by it, subject to the fulfilment of certain conditions imposed by the company.
    3. The hotel shall have the right to cancel the claim due to an apparent error and forfeit all reward points that may have been credited to the member’s booker account without any compensation.
    4. Eligibility is as follows:
      Individual Guestroom Booking
      Any individual or company that requires hotel accommodation at participating hotels, and makes individual guestroom reservations, including authorized individuals of companies with contracted rates with hotels are eligible to be a member of the AZUREwards membership program, events bookings ( 8 persons and above).
    5. There are two types of membership:
      1. Individual Membership:
        One or several individuals from a company that makes guestroom reservations who redeem rewards from accumulated points in the member’s booker account.
      2. Corporate Membership:
        One or several individuals from a company that make guestroom reservations, with points credited to the company and only one authorized individual is allowed to redeem rewards on behalf of the company. Membership to AZUREwards is at the discretion of the Hotel and shall be qualified on an annual basis.
    6. The hotel shall issue the membership to the applicant only if the application is fully completed in all respects and accepted by the hotel.
    7. Employees of the hotel, the participating hotels, travel agencies, property agents and Governments are not eligible to sign-up or participate in the programme.
    8. Notwithstanding anything herein, the hotel reserves the right to refuse any applicant from participating in the membership program with or without assigning any reasons whatsoever.
    9. The membership program is valid only at hotels.
    10. Renewal of membership is at the discretion of the hotel.
  3. Reward Points
    1. AZUREwards reward points will be awarded to the member, based on:
      Individual Guestroom Reservations
      Paid materialized guestroom reservations made at corporate, public or long stay rates by www.shangri-la.com, WeChat and Mobile App according to the terms and conditions.
    2. Reward points will start to be credited to the member’s booker account from the date the Member’s Booker Account ID is approved. Reward points are given as follows:
      Room Revenue Points

      For room reservations at Shangri-La Jeddah.

      • Every SAR 100.00 room revenue (room only)
      • Applicable for early arrival, late check out, cancellation, no-show and extra bed charges
      • Exclusive of service charge, tax, breakfast and any other package elements

      For events and F&B group reservations ( 8 persons and above ) at Shangri-La Jeddah
      • Every SAR 200.00 events revenue (including food and beverage, venue rental, excluding miscellaneous)
      • Exclusive of service charge, tax

      1. Points for room accommodation are awarded based on room revenue, excluding any free upgrades or upgrade benefits.
      2. Room bookings will not be eligible for points if the Booker ID is not provided when booking is made.
      3. Accumulation of points commences on the date the Booker ID is received.
      4. The hotel reserves the right to increase or decrease credited points as deemed necessary.
      5. Events Points shall be redeemed after completion of the event and once full payment is received.
    3. For memberships approved between 1 January and 31 December of any given year, reward points earned from 1 January to 31 December of the same year will expire until 31 March of the following year.
      Unredeemed points will automatically expire without further notice to the member as indicted on the above dates.
    4. The hotel may award special bonus points for certain guestroom reservations to bookers taking part in special promotions organized by the hotel, on fulfilment of specific conditions pertaining to the special promotion with terms and conditions applied.
    5. The hotel shall have the right to disallow AZUREwards reward points awarded in conjunction with any other promotion organized by the hotel which may or may not involve special monetary discounts and/or other privileges.
    6. AZUREwards reward points shall have no cash or monetary or other value except as provided herein.
    7. The hotel will not be liable for any error or delay in the updating of details of the member's booker account for reasons not directly caused by the hotel, including but not limited to any loss of accumulated points or any loss suffered due to a breakdown, failure of machinery, processor, computer hardware & software failures and communication and interfacing failures etc.
    8. The hotel shall have absolute right to close any guestrooms or function rooms in the hotel for the purpose of renovation and/or redesigning and/or for any other reasons, temporarily or permanently.
  4. Redemption of Reward Points
    1. To make a selection of the rewards, the member may view the online rewards gallery at www.AZUREwards.com. Rewards redemption can be made when sufficient reward points have been accumulated as indicated in the member’s point summary.
      Individual Redemption:
      Please login onto www.AZUREwards.com with the Member’s Booker Account ID and password to check the status of the point summary and process all redemptions online. Upon submission of redemption, please allow thirty to forty-five (30-45) working days to process and receive advice on the collection date of the reward item's from the hotel’s loyalty centre.
      Corporate Redemption:
      Please contact the account manager to consolidate and process the point summary and identify reward item/s for redemption.
      1. Points redeemed will be deducted automatically from a member’s booker account once the points have been redeemed.
      2. Redeemed rewards are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
      3. A copy of the member’s identification card must be submitted to the loyalty centre for processing of the redemption.
    2. A member may redeem any number of AZUREwards rewards with the reward points awarded. Reward points will be deducted from the member’s booker account when rewards redemption is made.
    3. The hotel reserves the right to update or replace the reward items in the online rewards gallery with another of similar value as may be determined by the hotel. The hotel shall have the absolute right to change and vary the rewards and the bookers are advised to always refer to the AZUREwards rewards gallery for the latest update of the rewards to avoid any disappointment.
    4. Redemption of AZUREwards reward points for rewards is subject to availability of rewards on a first-come-first-served basis.
    5. Redeemed rewards are not refundable or exchangeable for cash or for another reward. Once redemption is made and confirmed, no further changes will be allowed.
    6. To redeem a reward, the member must present the Membership ID number together with a copy of the member's identification card.
    7. The hotel makes no product representation or warranty, explicit or implied, and hereby disclaims any and all liability, concerning the quality, condition, satisfactory quality, merchantability or fitness for use of the products and services provided in the membership program. The hotel will not be liable for any loss or injury suffered by the bookers and/or third parties as a result of use and enjoyment of any reward.
    8. Upon issuance of the reward item or the reward voucher, the number of AZUREwards reward points required for the reward that has been redeemed as stated in the current online rewards gallery, shall be deducted from the member’s booker account in making that redemption.
  5. Issuance and Use of Reward Voucher
    1. Upon receipt of the redemption form or notification via the website and subject to eligibility, reward vouchers specifying the reward or reward items as selected by the member will be issued to the member within seven to fourteen (7-14) working days.
    2. Use of the reward voucher is subject to the terms and conditions stated on the reward voucher. The reward voucher must be utilized within the period specified on it.
    3. The member must present the relevant reward voucher with the Membership ID number at the relevant participating merchants.
    4. A reward voucher or reward items, which has been issued to the member, is not refundable or exchangeable for cash or for another reward. Once redemption is made and confirmed, no further changes will be allowed.
    5. Rewards in the form of vouchers cannot be used to purchase any item that is on sale, special offer or used in conjunction with any other discount, membership or privilege card, offer voucher or similar scheme unless the member is informed by the relevant participating merchant or the hotel.
    6. If the redemption of rewards is in the form of dining and room vouchers, issuance of such vouchers do not constitute a reservation. The member is responsible for making reservations at the participating outlets at the hotel or notifying the participating merchant of the redemption.
    7. For purchases exceeding the face value indicated on the reward voucher, the member must pay the shortfall at the member’s own expense.
    8. There will be no refund of the difference by the Hotel or any participating merchant if the reward voucher value is higher than the value of goods or services purchased.
    9. The hotel will not replace any reward voucher, which has been lost, defaced, torn, damaged or stolen, for whatever reason.
  6. General Conditions
    1. The rewards and offers included in the online rewards gallery at AZUREwards are valid from May 2019. The hotel reserves the right to update or replace the reward items in the online rewards gallery with another of similar value as may be determined by the hotel as indicated in item 4.3. Redemption of the rewards must be made before the reward points expiry date specified by the hotel as indicated in item 3.3.
    2. From time to time, the hotel may declare expiry dates for the validity of AZUREwards and publish such dates on the AZUREwards website, and may request all bookers to redeem their points before the expiry dates, with specific conditions governing the expiry of the redemption dates. In such an event, the AZUREwards reward points accumulated in a member’s booker account shall no longer be valid for redeeming any reward after the expiry of the reward points.
    3. The hotel reserves the right and at any time at its absolute discretion and without giving any reason or notice, to:
      1. Vary, modify or amend these terms and conditions in such manner as the Hotel thinks fit, and the member shall be bound by such change and shall not be entitled to payment of any compensation whatsoever;
      2. Terminate the membership program, or withdraw, cancel or invalidate any reward without liability and the member shall be bound by such termination and shall not be entitled to payment of any compensation whatsoever.
    4. In the event of any inconsistency between the terms and conditions and any brochure, marketing or promotional material relating to the membership program and/or the rewards, the terms and conditions shall prevail.
    5. The member participation in the membership program, including without limitation, the awarding and redemption of AZUREwards reward points and the use of reward vouchers, shall be governed by:
      1. the terms and conditions stated in the AZUREwards website;
      2. the terms and conditions stated in the reward voucher or any document issued by the hotel;
      3. any other terms and conditions as may be stipulated by the respective participating merchants or third party operators, service providers or suppliers engaged by the Hotel to provide the rewards featured in this membership program.
    6. Any abuse or fraud in respect of the award or redemption of AZUREwards reward points may result in cancellation of the accrued rewards points and any reward voucher already issued.
    7. The hotel shall not be liable if it is unable to perform its obligations under the terms and conditions, due directly or indirectly, to the failure of any machine or communication system, industrial dispute, war, Act of God or anything beyond the control of the hotel.
    8. The awarding of the AZUREwards reward points shall be entirely at the discretion of the hotel and the hotel shall not be liable or responsible for any loss, damage or injury suffered or incurred by the member in relation to or in connection with the membership program and/or the rewards and/or the goods, services, privileges, rights and merchandise provided by the merchants and the vendors of the reward.
    9. The member hereby authorizes the hotel to disclose information about the member and the member account to third parties for the purposes of the membership program.
    10. The hotel records of all matters relating to the membership program shall be conclusive and binding on the member.
    11. The hotel decision on all matters relating to the membership program shall be final and binding on the member and no correspondence shall be entertained.
